With the help of RWEA – Romanian Wind Energy Association – the wind energy industry aims to contribute to a just energy transition and proposes a professional training and reconversion project for the persons located in the coal-dependent regions. Based on the 8 years experience of the Monsson – RESS (Renewable Energy School of Skills) training centre in Constanta, RWEA and its member companies, such as Monsson and CEZ Group in Romania, through Distribuție Energie Oltenia, and also other companies within the Group, intends to access the funding available for the Platform for Coal Regions in Transition, for developing a professional Academy in Valea Jiului. During the implementation period of the project, for 10 years, we plan to reconvert up to 800 technicians in the field of renewable energy and energy distribution annually, for a total of up to 8,000.
The technical and professional skills of the technicians of the mining sector are easily transferrable towards the renewable energy and energy distribution, while the certifications awarded following the training and reconversion courses will allow them to be employed in installation, operation and maintenance of RES projects and energy distribution grids worldwide, with attractive salary packages. “
